What Is Past Life Regression?

A gentle guide to what actually happens during a Past Life Regression session

Maybe you're curious about Past Life Regression but there's a part of you wondering:

Will I actually see something?

Will I be unconscious?

What if I can't visualize?

Or perhaps the biggest one:

What if I'm just making the whole thing up?

These are some of the most common questions I hear.

Past Life Regression isn't about performing, finding the “right” past life or convincing yourself that something is real. It's a guided experience that allows you to become deeply relaxed, quiet some of the everyday thinking mind, and explore what naturally begins to arise.

And you might be surprised by how subtle that can be.

What happens during a Past Life Regression?

We start by talking.

Before the regression begins, we'll spend some time discussing what brought you to the session, anything you're curious about, and what you'd like to explore.

Then I'll guide you through relaxation and into a quieter, more focused state.

You aren't unconscious. You don't disappear somewhere while I do the work.

You're still there.

From that relaxed state, we begin exploring.

You may experience what feels like another place, another time or another version of yourself. Sometimes an experience unfolds like a scene. Sometimes there are only pieces at first.

A room.

A landscape.

A feeling.

Clothing.

A relationship.

A word.

Or simply a sense that you know something without knowing exactly how you know it.

My role is to guide you with questions and help you continue exploring what comes forward without telling you what you're supposed to experience.

Do you actually see a past life?

Some people do experience very vivid imagery.

Others don't.

This is important because people sometimes come into a session believing they're supposed to see something playing in their mind like a movie.

That's simply not how everyone experiences inner imagery.

You might see something.

You might feel it.

You might sense it.

You might hear words or thoughts.

Or you might simply know.

If you're someone who doesn't visualize easily, that doesn't mean you can't experience Past Life Regression.

We work with the way you naturally receive information rather than trying to force your mind to work differently.

Am I unconscious during Past Life Regression?

No.

Past Life Regression uses a relaxed, focused state, but you remain involved in the experience.

You can speak to me. You can answer questions. You can describe what's happening. You can adjust your position if you're uncomfortable.

You aren't handing control over to someone else.

Think less about being “put under” and more about allowing your attention to turn inward.

But what if I'm making it up?

This may be my favourite question because so many people wonder about it.

And my answer is usually:

You don't have to decide while you're there.

If an image, feeling, thought or story begins to emerge, we explore it.

Trying to analyze every detail as it happens — Is this real? Where did that come from? Am I imagining this? — can pull you straight back into the thinking mind.

Instead, we stay curious.

What happens next?

What do you notice?

How does that feel?

What seems important here?

Afterward, you are free to interpret the experience however you choose.

You may see it as a past life.

You may understand it symbolically.

You may experience it as your subconscious creating a story that allows you to look at something from a different perspective.

You don't have to force yourself into any particular explanation.

Do I have to believe in reincarnation?

No.

You don't have to arrive at a Past Life Regression session with a particular spiritual or religious belief.

Curiosity is enough.

For some people, the experience fits naturally within their belief in reincarnation.

For others, it feels more like symbolic or subconscious exploration.

I'm not there to tell you which interpretation is correct.

The experience belongs to you.

Why do people explore Past Life Regression?

People come for many different reasons.

Some are simply fascinated by the possibility of past lives.

Others are curious about a relationship, an unexplained feeling, a recurring pattern or a place they've always felt strangely connected to.

Some are looking for a different perspective on something they're experiencing in their current life.

And sometimes someone simply says:

“I've always wanted to try this.”

That's a perfectly good reason too.

There doesn't have to be something wrong that needs to be fixed.

Sometimes curiosity itself is enough.

Is Past Life Regression therapy?

You may see terms such as “past life regression therapy” used online, but not every Past Life Regression practitioner is providing psychotherapy or mental-health treatment.

My sessions are guided exploratory experiences. They are not a replacement for medical care, psychotherapy or mental-health treatment.

People may find personal meaning, insight or a different perspective through what they experience, but I don't believe we need to promise an outcome for the experience to be valuable.

What if a past life doesn't appear?

Then we don't force one.

This isn't a test that you pass or fail.

If something else comes forward, we can explore what's there.

Sometimes the experience someone expects isn't the experience they have.

That's okay.

Part of this work is allowing yourself to become curious about what arises rather than trying to manufacture a particular result.

Can Past Life Regression be done online?

Yes.

I conduct my private Past Life Regression sessions online, which means you can experience the session from your own comfortable space.

For many people, that's actually quite nice.

You can settle somewhere familiar, use headphones if you'd like, close your eyes and relax without needing to drive anywhere afterward.

Just choose a quiet place where you won't be disturbed and make sure you have a reliable internet connection.

How long is a Past Life Regression session?

My private online Past Life Regression sessions are approximately two hours.

That gives us time to talk beforehand, move into the experience without rushing, explore what arises, and allow some time afterward to return, talk and reflect.

You'll also receive an audio recording of your session so you can listen again later if you'd like.

A private two-hour online session is $275 USD.

How should I prepare?

You don't need to do anything elaborate.

Find a comfortable, private space where you can relax without interruption.

Headphones can be helpful.

Have some water nearby.

And most importantly, try not to spend the hours beforehand worrying about whether you're going to “do it right.”

You don't need to make anything happen.

Come curious.

What will you find?

I can't tell you.

And honestly, that's part of what makes the experience interesting.

Past Life Regression isn't about arriving with a script for what you're supposed to discover.

It's about becoming quiet enough to notice what arises and curious enough to follow it.

You can decide afterward what it means to you.
